Squeeze Page Tutorial

This is a squeeze page tutorial, if want to learn more squeeze page tips then grab this free ebook.

If you have been around the internet for even a short period of time, I am sure you would have come across a squeeze page.

You know, the pages that are solely focused on grabbing your details. They provide all sorts of incentives or promises and if worded correctly, will have you whipping out your name and email before you realise what you are doing.

Today I wanted to write a squeeze page tutorial, that will give you a basic overview of:

  • What Is The Purpose Of A Squeeze Page?
  • The Key Ingredients Of A Successful Squeeze Page
  • How You Can Get Your Own Squeeze Page

Squeeze Page Tutorial

What Is The Purpose Of A Squeeze Page?

There are just two purposes of a squeeze page:

  • To Grow Your Email List

If you have ever seen a squeeze page that is offering a free ebook, or offering something to your in exchange for your email address, then most likely they are ‘bribing’ you to join their email list.

My previous post looked at a few reasons why you would want to build your email list. However, if you do not have a product of your own, or one that you are specifically promoting, then having a list allows you to JV (joint venture) with other internet marketers to help promote their products.

  • To Pre-sell A Product You Are Promoting

If you have a product of your own, then you are going to want to build a list around it. This allows you to gain the details of people who have shown interest in the idea of your product. This allows you to create a series of follow up emails to help you sell your product – because we all know that the majority of people do not buy on their first visit.

An example of a highly effective pre-sell squeeze page that I like is this one for Membership Site Tactics.
If you want the information (and free video), then you need to input your details. This exact squeeze page is a fantastic converter (I know because I promote it!).

4 Parts Of A Converting Squeeze Page (Plus A Bonus)

As with anything, there are people that make squeeze pages work, while others continue to try and try again – with no results to show. Why are some successful while others fail? Why can some marketers get 20% optin while others must satisfy themselves with less that 1%?

It all comes down to structure. Somethings work and some things do not. But how do you know what the perfect squeeze page needs?

Well, there are only 4 things that your squeeze page needs and one added extra that will push people over the line and subscribe to your list.

  1. Headline

Your headline is the one thing that really needs to grab your visitors attention right from the start. The headline is the most important section of your squeeze page – and you could easily build a massive list with just a headline and subscription form. (take this squeeze page for example)

Your goal is to create a headline that is benefit driven,  avalue focused and addresses your visitors biggest problem.

Here Are Some Examples Of Great Headlines:

“Powerful New Software Tool Uncovers Hot Untapped Niche Markets that Have Been Completely Overlooked by the Masses and Allows You To Swoop in and Absolutely Dominate these Niche Markets in Google!”- What internet marketer wouldn’t want that?

Who Else Wants to Get Instant and Unlimited Access to 8,000 Pre-Screened Legitimate Wholesalers Including Suppliers that Have Decent Profit Margins… Right Now? – Anyone wanting to start an eBay business would jump at this!

“Discover how a rebellious lazy college student made $874,790 drawing pictures in his dorm room AND still receives residual income from artwork & photos he submitted 3 years ago! You can too. Here’s how …” – If you could draw, then wouldn’t you be interested?

  2. Sub-Headline

Now your headline has grabbed your readers attention and made them want to find out more. The sub-headline is not essential – however, it is a great chance to continue talking about the main benefits people will get from subscribing to your email list.

Here Is A Great Example Of A Sub-Headline:

This Free Report (Valued At $27) Details And Shows How You Can Focus And “Get Things Going”…In No Time, You’ll Be Able Turn Concept Into Cash In A Snap… – The word ‘FREE’ is the most powerful work in marketing!

  3. List Of Benefits

Your headline and sub-headline is in your squeeze page to make your visitors stop for long enough for you to share all the benefits of subscribing to your list.

Why Should People Subscribe To Your List?

If you cannot answer this question, then don’t think for a second that you will build a large, profitable list.

But if you have planned your list and ‘bribe’, then you should already have a list of benefits for those subscribing to you list.

    List Of Benefit’s Tip
If you are giving away a free ebook, then a good idea is to take each chapter (or section) and make a bullet point out of that!

    Make Your Benefits Stand Out!
To draw additional attention to your benefits, use bullet points or ‘tick’ graphics. This will make your benefits displayed in a very structured and easy to read way.

  4. Subscription Form

If you have read my previous squeeze page tips post, you would have know that one free ebook (don’t even have to signup), changed my thinking towards my subscription form.

Instead of collecting both name and email as everyone seems to be doing, if you want to significantly increase your conversion rate – JUST COLLECT EMAILS!

Make You Subscription Form Stand Out!
I have seen this done multiple different ways, but the main thing is that you want the subscription form to catch the eye of your visitors.

A few ways to do this is:

    1. Use A Think Dashed Border
This is the traditional method that has been around since I started looking into internet marketing – and it still works well now!
    2. Hand Drawn Line Around Email Box
This is quite a new method that I have seen become popular lately and I really like it. I am sure you would have seen them, they are usually a think red line circling the email signup form – or the submit button.

I am sure that if you make sure that your squeeze page follows this squeeze page tutorial and includes all the parts discussed above, that you will have a quickly growing email list!

If you are looking for a free squeeze page then make sure you subscribe to my email list as I will be giving away a squeeze page that I had specifically designed to convert well to all my email subscribers.
